Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Lighting
Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Lighting can be distributed across your network infrastructure through your structured cabling system. Each light connects to the building’s IT network, providing efficiency and flexibility in your lighting design. Having a single point of access simplifies adoption of emerging technologies and office space reconfiguations.
PoE lighting uses ethernet cables to power lighting fixtures, making it a more efficient option for large scale and commercial uses. PoE lights use DC from the ethernet cable versus standard LED light fixtures that use AC Edison sockets and require an AC-to-DC conversion. PoE safely allows electrical power and data to transmit concurrently on a single twisted-pair cable (Category 5e or above).
